Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games: an appropriate security system to guarantee everyone’s Safety

The 2024 Olympic Games will be held from 26 July to 11 August, and will open on the Seine at an exceptional ceremony on Friday 26 July, starting at 19:30.

The first of its kind, the opening ceremony show will follow the course of the river for 6 kilometres, from the Pont d’Austerlitz to the Pont d’Iéna, with the grand finale taking place at the Trocadéro. This ceremony requires an appropriate security system to guarantee everyone’s safety.

Operation of the perimeters for the opening ceremony

To guarantee the safety and smooth running of the opening ceremony, while preserving social, economic and cultural activities as far as possible, two perimeters, one grey (security perimeter) and one red, have been set up along the banks of the Seine.
